PERMANENT MAKE UP FAQ’s

What can I expect?
Prior to the enhancement procedure you will receive a comprehensive consultation during which you will have the opportunity to discuss the results you wish to achieve and how permanent make-up can enhance your appearance.

Does it hurt?
Before the permanent make-up process begins, a topical numbing agent will be applied to your skin to reduce the level of discomfort felt during the procedure.

How are the procedures done?
Hypo-allergenic pigment’s are infused into the dermal layer of the skin using state of the art computerized micro-pigmentation equipment.

What side effect are there after the procedure?
Immediately after the infusion process your permanent make-up enhancement will display mild redness and swelling that lasts no longer than 24 hours. The enhancement will also appear a darker shade than the desired result for approximately 1 week. After your procedure, you will be given aftercare instructions.

What about follow up sessions & enhancements?
The follow up session is generally 4-6 weeks later, which allows us to refine your enhancement by paying particular attention to fine detail.

The enhancement will gradually fade over a number of years leaving a barely there haze of colour in the skin. Most people opt to do a booster to their permanent make-up enhancements every 12 months in order to refresh their look, referring to their enhancement as ‘low maintenance make-up’. The booster procedure is charged at a low cost maintenance price.

I am worried about doing any permanent make-up enhancements as I’m afraid I will wake up one day and decide I do not want it anymore?
The pigmentation of permanent makeup may fade over time, particularly under the effects of sunlight or when using colors like light brown tones for eyebrows. It usually lasts for a 3-5 years or more before fading significantly. Touching up the enhancement may be required to restore the original colour as early as one year after the original procedure. Many procedures can last a lifetime with little to no intervention, but a lot of fading so adjusting the enhancement of eventual fading is not a problem.

EYELASH EXTENSIONS FAQ’s
What do they look like and how do they feel?
With proper application, eyelash extensions look and feel completely real. They are weightless and beautiful and very natural.

How long do eyelash extensions last?
When applied properly, eyelash extensions can last up to 2 months, depending on the natural growth cycle of your eyelashes and the expertise of the technician applying the eyelash extensions. Most clients will want touch-ups every two to four weeks.

How long does the procedure take?
It generally takes between 1 – 2 hours to apply one set. Touch ups will depend on how many lashes need to be replaced.

THREADING FAQ’s
What type of Thread is used for Threading?

A 100% anti-bacterial cotton thread is used for Threading. This thread allows strength but resilience during the technique whilst reducing the risk of infection.

What areas can be ‘Threaded’?
Threading is mainly performed on the face e.g. eyebrows, upper lip, chin, sides of face, nose, ears, neck, sideburns and forehead but can be used all over the body.

WAXING FAQ’s
How long should my hair be to wax it?
1/2cm long. Basically if you have been waxing leave it to grow for 4 weeks. If you have been shaving leave it to grow for 2 weeks.

Should I trim before I come?
No, leave that to us. You may trim it too short or worse still, cut yourself!

What underwear should I wear?
That depends. Your worst undies always because you will get talc and possibly wax on them. Keep your knickers small for bikini line waxes but if it’s a Brazilian you’re after you will need to remove them anyway.

Is it going to really hurt?
It will smart of course but the pain is instant and doesn’t linger so you won’t feel any discomfort after you leave. Most clients that haven’t had it before said it was far less painful than what they were expecting.

OK…so now I’m convinced…but what’s the difference between all these fancy bikini line waxes?
A basic bikini line wax is just waxing the hairs outside of the normal pair of knickers. A G-string wax is the same only waxing the hairs outside of a thong/G-string. A Brazilian wax is leaving only a strip of hair at the front. All the hair from the underneath and the back is removed. The size and shape is left up to you.
A Hollywood wax is removing everything – even the Brazilian strip. There are no rules, you can have what you want!!!

I’m not sure I like the idea of hot wax being applied to my bikini line?!
Don’t worry. The temperature is very comfortable. Most clients find the warmth soothing and the best thing about it! It makes it less painful than any other waxing method.

So, how long before my holiday/special occasion should I get a wax?
As close as you can really, a day or two before. The redness will go down very quickly afterwards. Even for the most sensitive skin the maximum time the redness would last should be 24 hours.

And how long will the wax last?
That depends on the client’s individual hair growth. But most people have a wax every 4-6 weeks. After about 3 weeks there will be a fair amount of regrowth but not enough really to wax. It is always recommended never to leave it more than 6 weeks because very long hairs can be easily broken and also if there are lots of long hairs this could mean there’s a higher chance of a second regrowth about to come through and therefore you won’t get as long out of your wax.
